It's May now, and it's Ramadhan 2020.

The COVID-19 situation has affected the Ramadhan experience for this year as well, there's no gerai ramadhan, there's no Tarawih at mosques and no sungkai buffets!

It's not so bad though. 

If I had to personally compare Ramadhan experiences, I believe the ones I went through in the past years were far more unpleasant. In my early days of blogging, this would've been the opening of a story, but today.... it might not be.

They did try introducing a gerai ramadhan "drive-thru" at Stadium, I went to check it out 2 days in a row and all I can say is, I went home empty-handed. The idea was thrilling but the execution was just, not up to the standards they seem to portray. I still need the whole gerai ramadhan experience! i.e. smell of food lingering in the air or just choices!

After the 2nd day, I practically gave up and just started ordering for Sungkai instead. Most restaurants  in Brunei do delivery now, and to me delivery services have always been an AMAYYJINGGGG idea... It's great to see businesses in Brunei finally developing and catching up!
Sadly, this does not apply to all, especially "big" ones.


All in all, what I can say is Ramadhan 2020 is a different experience, be it for the above reason, or for reasons I will not say. At least not on this post. 😜
