Day 4.
So ive left my blog untouched since last Wednesday, Im updating now, cause Im in, and has nothing better to do. Actually, I was thinking of getting coffee, and hanging out for abit (though, that means, i'll be sitting on my own, sipping coffee, watching people move about) but, from raining cats and dogs, its raining heavily now..with slight thunder and lightning.
So..I ended up reading this blog, and I cant help but notice (ive noticed it before, but this made a conclusion for me) that Bruneians, are no nationalists. Its like, us Bruneians, tend to undermine generalised assumptions of how we are, and thats all we do. Face it, we're all spoiled citizens, with no sense of achieving a better difference for ourselves or the society we live in or simply, we dont even have a sense of independancy. So we tend to undermine the society we live in. Take this statement as an example:

"As a child, it seems like a cool thing to do to shoot and catch criminals. But in Brunei, N* thinks most Bruneian police ends up being a police traffic who rides in some nice Suzuki or BMW bikes."
I actually read this bottom-up for some reason. So anyways, this seemed a bit harsh to me. So what if Bruneian police end up being a traffic police, its less work. It should be suitable for us Bruneians. Plus, with the comfy life we've endured, im not sure, if running around, with a gun, trying to catch criminals, is up to our standards. We lack pure, straight-up discipline. Im not trying to deny the truth, but you know, as a Bruneian, thats really offensive. Sometimes, some people criticize someone for being not open-minded, but if you think about it, these people might not be that "open-minded" as they are sure, they will be. Cause you know, if you expect people to be "open" with the things you do, or say or whatever it is that you define it to be.. you should as well be open to their criticism, at most, try not to offend people by saying theyre not open-minded.
And!from the same blog, I really find this funny:

I have to fully agree with N*. As for me, my dream is to be a movie star, but oh well, I can only a dream because I'm a Bruneian, right?
Cause if you have this in your mind, why dont you have the thought, that being Bruneian is not whats stopping you from being a "movie star" (<- this is whats actually funny to me..) its actually the attitude you have. :) There is, as I know, there is this one Korean/Taiwanese celebrity, that's Bruneian, that made it to stardom. If you know nothing, about him, you might as well realise you tend to be abit ignorant. Perhaps US culture got to your mind(cause..thats where most shows came from). They are after all, considered to be one of the most ignorant people in the world.

I have to admit, I too possess this attitudes, but hey, its alright to have someone open your eyes, to a more positive insight. Once, in a while. And furthermore, it doesnt hurt to be able to defend our culture from the laughing asses thats glad we've undermined our own country trying to boast, the culture they have. Simply put, not look stupid.
